Christopher Cartwright is a playwright, radio host, marketing professional, poet, coffee-lover, concert-goer, and proud Minnesotan. His plays have been produced in 9 countries across 5 continents, earning numerous accolades along the way. His best-selling one-act comedy Awaiting Patients has been read, studied, and performed around the world at various schools, festivals, and theaters. His 10-minute romantic comedy Barfly premiered at Some Small Show on the South Shore of Massachusetts. He wrote and produced the silly one-act Sock Hops, Recorders, and Owl Pellets: Tips on Surviving the 4th Grade, at the 2016 Minnesota Fringe Festival, which averaged a 5-star audience rating throughout its run before embarking on a mini tour of South Dakota. In 2019, he collaborated with composer Noah Bray on the short opera Square One which was workshopped by the Concordia Opera under the direction of Stephen Sulich. His one-minute comedy Art School premiered at the 2022 MN Shorts Festival in Mankato.

Aside from playwriting, he also hosts and produces The Starlight Serenade, a weekly radio show airing live every Thursday on KFAI in the Twin Cities. He previously worked both on and off the air in various capacities for North Dakota’s public radio network Prairie Public and at KORD Radio in Moorhead, MN.

Cartwright is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Jazz Journalists Association.
